Started as an Oratory in 1668-72 on Pier Francesco Silvani sober sketch suffered several transformation and adjuncts in 1713 under the G. Fortini direction. He made the baroque structures of the apse and the altars, the presbytery statues (Charity and Purity) and the first two bas-reliefs showing episodes of Saint Philip life. The other two, in the back of the church were made by A. Montauti. The High Altar by Z. del Rosso.
The drawings over the altars are attributed to G. Pinzani (A. Gherardini), T. Redi, A. Puglieshi, G. Sacrestani, A.D. Gabbiani, G.Perini (O. Marinari). On the golden roof designed by P.F. Silvani you can see "Saint Philip Glory" by G.C. Sacrestani. In the apse dome there is the great N. Lapi fresco of the Holy Trinity, the apostles and Florentine Saints
The Façade was completed in 1731-32 on F. Ruggeri and G. Fortini drawings. The latter also made the statues over the doorway.
In the side chapel, finished in 1776 on Z. del Rosso drawings, you can find the Virgin Mary of C. Maratta, a picture by Bachiacca and the dome by L. Sabatelli & sons. Again the altar was made by Z. del Rosso.
